The Durham Yoga Studio Woodland Retreat

Immerse yourself into nature and complete relaxation in the beautiful woodland haven in the Yorkshire Dales.

Created with ultimate intention, this 3 day/ 2 night retreat aims to offer you a complete journey into relaxation, an immersion into nature.

Days will include:

Meditation, Yoga classes & workshops, delicious food from our private chef, optional wild swimming (or toe dips) in the private lake, woodland sauna, chilling in your private wood fired hot tub, woodland walks & fire side chats :)

Our Accommodation

Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, in area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), our retreat location comprises of 7 luxury woodland yurts. Each yurt is surrounded by beautiful woodland and the site has its own private wood fired hot tub, private bathroom & log burner.

The yurts are sat beside a private lake and are set within private woodland grounds; the perfect place for peaceful woodland walks and connecting with yourself. There’s also a hidden woodland sauna to relax after the day’s activities!

The ideal setting to reset and connect with nature, feel part of a community of like minded people.

We know that there are lots of retreats advertised out there, so we want to make sure that our retreat meets your needs and expectations. Come alone or with friends, this retreat is all about making friends and feeling a part of a supportive group of people. Most of the accommodation options are based on sharing, so you’ll be sharing with some like-minded yogis. If you love the outdoors and are looking for an immersion into yoga and nature, this is for you!

There’ll be a lot of yoga, but we’re also happy for you to be there with us, and chill with no pressure to do any of the activities.

All ages, body types, levels of yoga are welcome but we’d suggest you know your updogs from downdogs! We’d also recommend joining a class online or in studio at The Durham Yoga Studio to give you a taste of the style we offer.

Triple shared Yurts are female only. Guys, we’d love you to come, but bring a friend or two!

  • Our retreat location is just a 75 minute car journey from Durham, we’d love to connect you with other retreaters who are driving

  • Your 50% deposit is non-refundable. The Balance is due on the 1st May 2024.

    If you have paid the full amount upon booking, and your cancellation is made within less than 30 days before the start of the retreat, the second payment is refundable. If cancellation is made within 30 days of the start of the retreat, it’s non-refundable.

    All bookings are for the stated period of the retreat Friday-Sunday. There are no refunds for an unused portion of the retreat

    Amendments by us

    We reserve the right to amend fine details of the retreat (e.g., schedule, class times or other arrangements).

    Cancellation by us

    We reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel a retreat. Our retreats require a minimum number of at least 75% of the participants to have booked by 30 days before the start date. If this minimum number is not reached by that date we may cancel and refund the money to you.

About your host

Emily is the Founder of The Durham Yoga Studio and has been building a Yoga Community in Durham since 2017 and is passionate about the benefits of Yoga and Mindfulness to enhance wellbeing. Emily is inspired by nature, animals, art, and movement and believes they are all integral into how we can uncover our most authentic nature and seek joy in the every day moments.

Emily specialises in teaching an embodied, fluid and thoughtful yoga flow and her passion is to discover techniques in how we can nourish ourselves through the integration of movement and mindfulness. 

Emily has foundational yoga training is in a Creative & Intelligent Vinyasa Flow and has undergone further trainings in Embodied Yin Yoga, Stress Reduction based Mindfulness and Prenatal yoga and is an accredited Yoga Alliance Experienced Yoga Teacher.
